It’s hard to imagine anyone turning down a role in the Love Actually sequel, but Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid did – and, as ever, it was all because of Piers Morgan.
Although, her TV sparring partner didn’t actually do anything this time, and it was actually a joke about him in the script that was enough to make her reject the idea of signing up.
In Richard Curtis’s Red Nose Day Actually, Hugh Grant returned as his Prime Minister character David for another wonderful press conference scene, during which he made a joke about Piers Morgan’s still “being alive”.
And, according to Source, that was enough for Susanna to say no to a role in the Comic Relief sketch, because she’s got her co-host’s back.
“I enjoy how viewers react to my relationship with Piers on the sofa,” she added. “It’s evolving – like any good TV ‘marriage’.
“He winds me up no end, but I also like him. It’s an impossible-to-predict recipe of mutual respect, irritation, frustration and admiration but it works.”
