Five countries are vying for the Best Foreign Language section of the Academy Awards in one of the most unpredictable years in Oscar history.
The countries are Australia, Denmark, Germany, Iran and Sweden.
Usually, one or two of the five films have won either the Golden Globe or the BAFTA in the same category.
Some of the foreign language films have been on the film circuit for a while before being eligible for the Academy Awards.
The Oscars comes up this weekend in Los Angeles.
