Amosun’s daughter donates medical items to hospital

TVCE [ABEOKUTA] – One of the daughters of the Governor of Ogun State, Miss Akorede Amosun has donated some medical items to the Family Health Centre, Oke-Ilewo in Abeokuta South Local Government area of the state.

The medical items, which were medical humanitarian gifts from NOT JUST TOURISTS, a non-governmental organisation based in Toronto, were meant to boost the health care delivery in Ogun State and help those in most desperate need.

Presenting the medical supplies which included bandages, gauze, tapes, antiseptics, alcohol swabs, saline flushes, IV kits in sterile packaging, wound-care kits, examination gloves, scalpels, disposable needles, syringes, urinary supplies, masks or respiratory supplies amongst others, Miss Amosun noted that the donation was made in recognition of her voluntary service with NOT JUST TOURISTS for her hospitality and friendship with the people.

She explained that NOT JUST TOURISTS is a volunteer-based organisation that collects surplus medical supplies from healthcare professional and institutions and send them through travellers to small medical mission in need around the world.

 She added that the donation was part of her voluntary humanitarian aid and her contribution to improved quality healthcare in the state.

Receiving the medical items on behalf of the hospital, the doctor in charge of the clinic, Dr. Abiodun Sorunke expressed appreciation to Miss Amosun for facilitating the supplies to boost primary health care delivery in that state, saying Primary Healthcare Centre offers first care to the people.

He added that the donation was significant as the supplies would be put to daily use in the hospital.
