Pregnant Natalie Portman will be honoured with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival next year (17).
The Black Swan star will be feted for her role as Jackie Kennedy in Jackie on 2 January (17) at the Palms Springs Convention Center.
“Natalie Portman truly brings to life one of this country’s most treasured public figures in the acclaimed new film Jackie,” Festival Chairman Harold Matzner says. “Portman delivers a transformative and deeply human portrayal of the former First Lady following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, one of the most challenging moments in our nation’s history. It is our honour to once again present the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress to Natalie Portman.”
This is the second Desert Palm Achievement Award for the actress – she also received the accolade in 2011 for Black Swan. Previous recipients include Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, and Charlize Theron.
Portman joins previously announced honourees including Casey Affleck, Tom Hanks, and Nicole Kidman among this year’s special guests.
