Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has promised to promote art more than before.
The governor said this at the Lagos state reception in honour of the late lover of art and former Minister of National Planning, Rasheed Gbadamosi at the state house on Thursday.
Correspondent, Adedoja Salam-Adeniyi reports that the gathering was all about remembrance of the late Rasheed Gbadamosi with Lagos state executive council members, members of the Lagos chamber of commerce, members of the artistic world, lawmakers , business associates, family and friends of the late foremost industrialist in attendance.
For Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the late Gbadamosi was not just a father but one of the founding fathers of the modern Lagos.
Because of the late Gbadamosi’s love for art and support for artists, the governor promised to support the arts more than ever before.
To his children, they have not just lost a Dad but a bosom friend.
The late Gbadamosi served at the age of 29 as the Lagos state commissioner for Economic planning and budget and served as co-chair of the Lagos at 50 committee at the age of 72.
His friends say the late Rasheed Abiodun Gbadamosi, OFR who died on 17th November 2016, enjoyed life and life enjoyed him.
