Fuji Music star, Wasiu Alabi Odetola popularly referred to as Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, was among top entertainers that thrilled visitors at this year’s ‘Kayokayo Festival’, a revered cultural celebration among the Epe people of Lagos State.
Pasuma added colour to the week-long event meant to celebrate the beginning of the new Islamic calendar and also the historic arrival of Prince Kosoko to Epe in 1851.
Giving an insight into the significance of the annual festival meant to boost tourism and commercial activities in the area, traditional ruler of the community, the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, said with the spate of road construction and development currently going on in Epe, the area is set to become the main relaxation and entertainment spot in Lagos and the entire South-West region.
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, a native of Epe, was among high-profile guests who graced the historic and colourful occasion.
