Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima has literally moved his office to Bama Community, keen to fast track the reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement efforts therein, so that people can return to the reclaimed Community.
Bama is the second largest local Government Area and the Commercial nerve centre of Borno State. It was captured in 2014 by Boko Haram fighters, who proceeded to forcefully displace its residents. All infrastructure that can sustain human existence here were destroyed by the insurgents.
Bama, the hitherto bubbly Commercial town, which played host to business men and women from different parts of Nigeria and even Cameroon is now a shadow of what it used to be.
Kashim shettima, the Borno state Governor has relocated to Bama with his close aides to oversee reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in the community.
