Comedian Trevor Noah to host 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards

South African comedian and host of Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show’, Trevor Noah has been announced as the host of the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He has edged out Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth and Hollywood actor, Idris Elba.

This year will have performances from African stars like Alikiba, Babes Woduma, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Ycee and Yemi Alade.

In the past, Wyclef Jean, Eve, Marlon Wayans, Anthony Anderson and Trevor Nelson have hosted the MTV MAMA.
