Recession : Uzor Kalu backs emergency powers for Buhari

If Nigeria must come out quickly from its present economic recession, then the National assembly must urgently accept the bill by President Muhammadu Buhari empowering him to have emergency powers.
Orji Uzor Kalu stated this while answering questions from pressmen on the sidelines of an event that took place in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.

The Former Governor of the state said that the situation would not have been this dire if the previous administration of Goodluck Jonathan heeded to the advice of many Nigerians some years back.

He also agreed with the recent statement by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo that militancy and pipeline vandalism is another area that must be checked if the effect of the recession must reduce and appealed to the militants to drop their arms and embrace dialogue with the Federal Government.

He appealed to Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that he has the capacity to return the country to its lost glory days.

He also reacted to the Thursday National assembly election petition tribunal judgement disclosing that he will approach the court of Appeal.
