The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission ABSIEC has fixed December the 17th for the conduct of election into the 17 local Government area councils in the state.
According to a press statement signed by the chairman of the commission, Retired Justice Igbozuruike Akomas said that the development is in line with the exercise of powers conferred on it by section 160 of the Abia local Government law number 9 of 2002.
The released urged political parties and candidates to proceed to the commission’s headquarters for the collection of nomination forms not later than 14th of October.
