Sports, minister, Solomon Dalung has said that athletes don’t need too much preparation to excel in competitions.
Following the sterling performance by Team Nigeria at the Paralympics, Dalung said the Paralympians also had bad preparations like their able bodied athletes but are doing better in Brazil.
According to Dalung, “the disabled athletes have shown that all that is required is a winning mentality and not too much preparation.”
He justified his opinion by saying the Paralympians trained under the same condition with their able bodied counterparts but are winning medals.
This utterance from the sports minister comes as Nigerians still blame poor preparation for the country’s woeful outing at the Rio Olympics.
