Rapper Bobby Shmurda has agreed to a plea bargain on charges of gang conspiracy and will be imprisoned for seven years.
Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, took the deal just days before he was set to stand trial on conspiracy and weapons charges in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Prosecutors had maintained the “Shmoney Dance” phenom was the “driving force” behind a street crew called GS9 that was responsible for dealing drugs and several Brooklyn shootings.
He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.
The rapper, whose hit song ‘Hot Boy’ made him a household name was arrested in December 2014 alongside 15 other Brooklyn street gang members involved in violent drug wars, murder and attempted murder.
Bobby, 22, has been in prison for 20 months so that will be taken into account when a release date is set. So he will basically be in prison for a little over 5 years.
