Britney Spears, Elton John and Others to headline Apple Music Festival 2016 in September

TVC E. Britney Spears, Elton John, The 1975 and others have been announced to perform at the Apple Music Festival which is to take place in London.

Previously known as the iTunes Festival, the annual London music event will be  celebrating its 10th anniversary and will return to its home at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London in September, 2016.

Britney Spears, Calvin Harris and The 1975 are among the artists confirmed to perform at the event.

Other acts confirmed to perform include Bastille, Robbie Williams, Chance the Rapper, Alicia Keys, OneRepublic and Canadian crooner Michael Bublé.

Britney, who is preparing to release her ninth studio album Glory on 26 August, said in a statement about her upcoming performance: “I’m so excited to go back to London, which is a special place for me to visit, and I’m really looking forward to performing at the Apple Music Festival.

She added: “It’s also their 10th birthday. It’s going to be a great party.”

Britney last performed in the UK five years ago on her Femme Fatale tour in 2011.

According to Apple Music’s vice-president of international content, Oliver Schusser , he noted the “legacy” of the festival over the last decade, stating:

“Over the past decade the festival has brought the biggest and best artists from all over the world to London and into the homes of millions of music fans. This year’s Apple Music Festival builds on that incredible legacy and we couldn’t be more excited to have another amazing line-up to celebrate our tenth birthday.”
