CBN bullion vans attacked by robbers in Jos

TVC E. 2 policemen have reportedly lost their lives in a crossfire between them and robbers who attacked  CBN bullion vans headed for Abuja yesterday, Tuesday the 16th.

The bullion vans belonging to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) were ambushed by robbers at Hawan Kibo, along the Jos-Abuja road, in Plateau state.

According to an eye witness, he said “bullets started flying around after a military checkpoint, at about 10am, and it was later discovered that it was CBN bullion vans that were attacked”.

“All residents of the community fled for their lives,” he added. “The corpses of two security personnel were seen when the gunshots had died down.”

Tyopev Terna, an assistant superintendent of police and public relations officer of the police in the state, confirmed the attack but said he did not have the details.
