Aisha Buhari seeks foreign help to tackle malnutrition

The wife of the Nigerian President Aisha Buhari is looking for funds to help solve the problems of Malnutrition in Northern Nigeria.

Speaking at the George Mason University in Virginia, USA, the Nigerian First Lady said the funds would help rescue over more than half a million malnourished children.

Correspondent Detola Ogungbemi reports that The George Mason University is known for its research to advance the field of Health in Africa.

Every year in Nigeria, an estimated 800 thousand children below the age of five die from malnutrition and other factors.

So it is not surprising that the need to reduce malnutrition is a core project for the Nigerian First Lady.

Mrs Buhari also spoke on the need to educate the girl child in Nigeria, a key part of her project, Future assured.

Convener of the program, Gbemi Disu is optimistic that the discussions would translate to action.
