August the 17th remains the date for the Peoples Democratic Party convention.
This is according to the spokesman of PDP caretaker committee, Dayo Adeyeye, following Justice Okon Abang’s judgment
that nullified the appointment of Ahmed Makarfi as caretaker committee chairman of the PDP.
Adeyeye accused Justice Abang of “deliberately” engaging in acts capable of derailing the country’s democracy.

He said the judge had denied his faction, representation in court by allowing the sheriff-faction, who instituted the case, to also stand as PDP defendants.
Members of the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee are now looking to a higher court for a final verdict on the matter.
