We did not collect money from IOC, says NOC

Nigeria Olympic Committee has debunked allegations it has received money from the International Olympic Committee running into millions of dollars, meant for Team Nigeria’s preparation for Rio games.

The claims were made by the Chairman of the Sports Reform Committee, Godwin Kienka.

The preliminary reports of the Committee’s findings, revealed funds allocated for Team Nigeria’s preparation, being grossly mismanaged.

But NOC Secretary General Tunde Popoola insists the findings are erroneous and grossly inaccurate.

Popoola says the body is still expecting support grant from the IOC to the tune of 103,000 dollars.
