Michael Jace, 53, has been sentenced to 40 years imprionment today for shooting his wife dead in front of their two children. He was convicted last week of second-degree murder in the death of April Jace in May 2014.
‘There is absolutely no justification for my actions on that night,’ Jace tearfully told his wife’s family members in court. I am profoundly sorry for the pain that I’ve caused everyone.’
Jace continued to claim that he had never intended to kill his 40-year-old wife, who wanted a divorce.
‘There was no premeditated anything,’ Jace told her family, acknowledging that he was not charged with first-degree murder. But, Kay Henry, April’s mother, angrily shook her head and walked out of the courtroom in the middle of his comments.
