TVC E. A 31-year old lady named Glory Dan has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom state Police Command for allegedly killing her 75-year old Dad, Bassey Udo in Ibiono Ibom Area in Akwa Ibom State.
The incident was said to have been reported at the D’Division Itam by the Village head Mbiakpan Atan, Chief Linus Okon and subsequently, the case was transferred to SCID, Uyo for further investigations.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer,Cordelia Nwawe, she said the complainant, Chief Linus Okon alleged that he was in his house when he received a call from one of his subjects, Glory Dan,female, who broke into her father’s room and hit him on his head with an object that caused his death.
Nwawe stated that following the report the complainant and witnesses made,their statements
revealed that the deceased lived alone in his house.
”That on May 10, at about 1940HRS, the suspect, Glory Dan, armed with a stick, broke into the deceased’s room and hit him to death. They concluded that they heard the deceased screaming in his room ”Don’t Kill Me”
When the suspect, Glory Dan was arrested and charged, she volunteered a statement confessing to the crime. She went further to say that she attacked the deceased because he was a wizard and also responsible for the death of her five children and two husbands.
In her words ‘‘My father has been responsible for the death of all my children, including my two husbands. It was my mother who revealed it to me in a dream when i washed my face and went to her tombstone and cried to her.”
