The nominations are out for the sixteen edition of The Headies Award which is aimed at celebrating musical talents across Nigeria and Africa.
Burna Boy received the most nods on the list with a total of eleven nominations, some of which includes, Album of the Year, Recording of the Year, Afrobeats Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best R&B Single amongst others.
Some of the most talked about categories includes ‘Rookie of The Year’ which had, Odumodu Black, Bloody Civilian, Bayanni, Guchi, Eltee Skillz, and Khaid.
In the ‘Best Female Artiste’ category, there is Tems, Simi, Ayra Starr, and Tiwa Savage, while the ‘Best Male Artiste’ category has Asake, Rema, Kizz Daniel, Ruger, Omah Lay, and Burna Boy.
The ‘Song of the Year’ category has Calm Down by Rema, Last Last by Burna Boy, KU LO SA by Oxlade, Buga by Kizz Daniel & Tekno, Finesse by Pheelz ft. Bnxn and Sungba Remix by Asake ft. Burna Boy.
In the ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ there is Rexxie ft. Naira Marley & Skiibii with Abracadabra, Seyi Vibez with Chance (Na Ham), Asake with Joha, Zlatan ft. Young Jonn with Astalavista, Poco Lee & Hotkid with Otilo, and Mohbad with Peace.
Producer of the Year category has Magicstickz for Sungba Remix, Pheelz for Electricity, Andrevibez & London for Calm Down, Tempoe for Soweto, Kel-P for Kpe Paso, and Rexxie for Abracadabra.
In the ‘Best Music Video’ category, we have Back in Uni by Blaq Bonez & Perliks, Peace Be Unto You by TG Omori, Spell (Remix) by Director Pink, Common Person by Director K, Bandana by TG Omori, and Calm Down (Remix) by Director K.
