Exciting Rumors Confirmed in New Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer

The new trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has confirmed an exciting rumor circulating within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As Marvel delves deeper into its Multiverse saga, the upcoming film is poised to become a pivotal entry in this phase of the MCU, echoing the unlikely pairings seen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the self-referential humor of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law—though Deadpool has always embraced a snarky tone.

Intriguing Multiversal Concepts

The latest teaser introduces a familiar multiversal concept reminiscent of Loki, but with intriguing twists that could significantly impact the franchise. In the teaser, Deadpool humorously admits to wearing a toupee in his civilian life, which is juxtaposed with a glimpse of a character resembling Lady Deadpool. This supports the long-standing fan theory that the film will feature Wade Wilson alongside his multiversal counterparts. While the face of this blonde variant remains unseen, speculation suggests she may be portrayed by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds’ real-life wife.

Introducing the Deadpool Corps

Lady Deadpool appears alongside several other variants, including Kid Deadpool, a cowboy version of Deadpool, and Dogpool, whose involvement was hinted at last year. In the comics, Lady Deadpool and Dogpool are part of the Deadpool Corps, a group of Deadpool variants that also includes Kidpool and Headpool—a sentient severed head. This Corps was formed to combat the Evil Deadpool Corps, a faction of Deadpool variants intent on eliminating all others. Notably, Kid Deadpool was a member of the Evil Deadpool Corps, suggesting potential conflicts among the various Deadpool characters in this multiversal narrative.

This setup closely mirrors Season 1 of Loki, where the mischievous anti-hero teamed up with the TVA and encountered multiple variants, including Lady Loki (Sylvie), Classic Loki, President Loki, and Alligator Loki. However, Deadpool & Wolverine brings a unique feature that Loki lacked: the ability to break the fourth wall.

It remains to be seen whether Deadpool will comment on the similarities between the reveals or if their cinematic presentation will elevate their significance within the MCU. With Loki now mythologized as a tree, the mantle of multiversal antics is up for grabs.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26.
