Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is a sequel that many fans, including myself, are eagerly anticipating. Growing up as a Halloween-obsessed goth kid, I cherished Burton’s films, with the original “Beetlejuice” being a standout favorite. Over time, though, Burton’s films seemed to lose their magic, becoming predictable and lifeless.
However, with “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” Burton returns to familiar territory, reuniting Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder (and even Catherine O’Hara) from the original cast, and introducing Jenna Ortega into the mix. The big question remains: will the sequel live up to expectations? I certainly hope so, as it would be wonderful to enjoy a Tim Burton movie once again.
Drawing Inspiration from the Beetlejuice Cartoon
The new “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” trailer offers an interesting twist by teaming up Beetlejuice and Lydia, a dynamic reminiscent of the “Beetlejuice” cartoon series. Unlike the original movie, where Beetlejuice tries to marry Lydia, the cartoon portrays them as close friends.
In the trailer, Lydia seeks Beetlejuice’s help to save her daughter, played by Ortega. This nod to the cartoon series might be intentional, or it could be a mere coincidence. Regardless, the trailer is promising, showcasing Burton’s signature style, effective humor, and Keaton seamlessly stepping back into his iconic role. Here’s a brief synopsis of the film:
