“Singer Sean Kingston posted a $100,000 bond and was released from police custody. Last week, authorities arrested the ‘Beautiful Girls’ singer in connection with a million-dollar fraud case. He was subsequently extradited to Florida and detained in Broward County jail, facing ten criminal charges according to a judge.
CBS Miami reported on Tuesday (June 4) that Kingston paid the bond and was released from jail. Kingston’s lawyer, Bob Rosenblatt, expressed confusion about the claims, stating, ‘I don’t know who is claiming they owe money.’ Rosenblatt further emphasized that this case constitutes a breach of contract rather than fraud.
Simultaneously with her son’s arrest in another location, Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, was also arrested on multiple charges of fraud and theft during a raid at their rented mansion. The singer now faces grand theft charges for allegedly stealing jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and a custom bed valued at over $80,000. He also stands accused of defrauding banks of over $45,000 and violating his probation terms related to trafficking stolen property and writing bad checks.
Following the arrests, Kingston took to social media to defend himself and his mother, reassuring fans that his lawyers were handling the situation. The current legal issue is connected to a lawsuit filed earlier this year by Ver Ver Entertainment LLC. The company alleges that Kingston breached the contract and committed fraud after purchasing a large TV and sound system from them.
Reportedly, Kingston promised to produce promotional videos for the products alongside Justin Bieber, with whom he had collaborated on ‘Eeenie Meenie’ in 2010. In exchange for the electronics costing over $100,000, Kingston made a down payment of $30,000 and agreed to a second payment of $47,000, with the remaining cost to be covered through social media posts.”
