Chris Hemsworth is set to be immortalized with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. Widely recognized for his portrayal of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hemsworth will be officially honored later this month.
Hemsworth joins a distinguished list of Marvel actors who have received this accolade, including Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Josh Brolin.
The ceremony, scheduled for May 23 at 11:30 a.m. PT, will feature guest speakers such as filmmaker George Miller, who directed Hemsworth in the upcoming “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” and Robert Downey Jr. The star, located at 6819 Hollywood Blvd., will be the 2,781st addition to the Walk of Fame, commemorating Hemsworth’s significant contributions to the entertainment industry.
In addition to his role in the MCU, Hemsworth has achieved success with Netflix’s “Extraction” series and will voice Optimus Prime in the upcoming “Transformers One.” He is also slated to star alongside Sam Rockwell in “Project X,” directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stated, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Chris Hemsworth with a well-deserved star. Chris is known for his remarkable performances that have captivated audiences worldwide. Along with his many fans, I am sure his fellow Australians will be thrilled to see another talented Aussie on our iconic Walk of Fame.”
The induction ceremony is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s website for those who cannot attend in person.
