Mike Tyson and Jake Paul recently squared off in a press conference ahead of their highly anticipated boxing match set for July 20. The event, taking place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be broadcast worldwide on Netflix.
Despite their age difference—Tyson at 58 and Paul at 27—their bout promises to be an intense showdown. Tyson, a former heavyweight champion, expressed his respect for Paul’s willingness to face him in the ring, while Paul confidently stated his intention to prove himself against the boxing legend.
The match, sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, will feature eight two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves and no headgear. Both fighters anticipate a fast-paced and entertaining fight, with Tyson emphasizing his preparation for the shorter rounds.

While acknowledging their friendship outside the ring, Tyson emphasized the seriousness of their competition once they step into it. Paul, known for his brash persona, believes he has the support of younger fans and is ready to face Tyson’s punches.
The press conference also featured women’s boxing stars Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, who are scheduled for a rematch in the co-main event. The event marks the first of a two-city press tour to promote the upcoming match.
