Liverpool has reportedly reached an agreement with Feyenoord regarding compensation for hiring Arne Slot as their new manager. Slot, who has openly expressed his interest in joining Liverpool as they search for a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, is set to take over the position after Feyenoord’s season concludes.
The deal paves the way for Slot to step into the managerial role at Anfield once Klopp’s tenure ends at the close of the current campaign. Slot has been managing Feyenoord since 2021, leading the team to a league title last season and recently winning the Dutch Cup.
In an interview, Klopp shared his positive outlook on Slot’s potential appointment, praising the Dutchman’s energy, knowledge, and style of play. Klopp emphasized that the club deserves a manager with such qualities and expressed optimism for Liverpool’s future under Slot.
Liverpool also considered other managerial candidates, such as Ruben Amorim from Sporting Lisbon and Xabi Alonso from Bayern Leverkusen. However, the agreement with Slot solidifies the club’s plans for the upcoming season.
