The Nigerian film industry mourns the loss of veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor, who has passed away. Muonagor reportedly succumbed to kidney-related issues, diabetes, and stroke on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

In 2023, Muonagor suffered a stroke, resulting in partial paralysis of his left leg. He underwent weekly dialysis and physiotherapy to address the paralysis caused by the stroke. Tragically, his demise occurred shortly after he made a plea for financial assistance on social media to fund a kidney transplant.

Hailing from Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, Muonagor made a significant impact on Nigerian cinema, appearing in numerous films. He gained widespread recognition for his role as the father of mischievous young boys in the popular ‘Aki and Pawpaw’ series.
