Aaron Taylor-Johnson Formally Offered James Bond Role, Contract Signing Imminent
Famed for his roles in “Kick-Ass” and “Avengers: Age Of Ultron,” 33-year-old actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been approached to take over the iconic character of James Bond from Daniel Craig.
While Taylor-Johnson appreciates the rumors linking him to the role, no official confirmation has been announced yet. However, sources indicate that the offer has been extended, awaiting his acceptance. According to insiders cited by The Sun, Taylor-Johnson is expected to finalize the deal soon.
Eon Productions, responsible for the Bond franchise, is reportedly gearing up for the production of a new 007 film, with a script currently in development. Taylor-Johnson’s potential appointment is seen as a seamless transition from Daniel Craig’s tenure.
Acknowledged for his exceptional talent, Taylor-Johnson is viewed as the ideal candidate to carry on the legacy of Bond. Speaking to Numero magazine, he graciously accepted the notion of being considered for the role, interpreting it as a flattering compliment.
With Daniel Craig’s departure after “No Time To Die,” speculation has been rife about the successor to portray the iconic spy. Despite long-standing rumors suggesting Idris Elba as a potential Bond, the actor expressed reluctance due to racial prejudice surrounding the speculation. Elba candidly addressed the issue, stating that unwarranted comments about his ethnicity tainted the discussions surrounding the role.
