Samsung Unveils Galaxy A55 and A35: Midrange Phones with Enhanced Features

Samsung has introduced its latest midrange phone lineup for 2024, blending attractive prices with slightly toned-down specs compared to its flagship models. The Galaxy A55 and A35 sport expansive 6.6-inch Super AMOLED displays, a first for budget-friendly handsets from the company. Introducing Knox Vault for enhanced security, previously seen in the Galaxy S21, Samsung ensures a secure experience for users.

Both phones, running on Android 14, boast FHD+ displays with a resolution of 2220×1080 and variable refresh rates of up to 120Hz. Equipped with Samsung’s Vision Booster feature, the screens adjust tone mapping based on ambient lighting conditions. With a slight increase in diagonal size from their predecessors, the A55 and A35 offer an immersive viewing experience.

While Samsung has not officially disclosed the processors, reports suggest the A55 is powered by the Exynos 1480, while the A35 utilizes the Exynos 1380. RAM configurations vary, with the A55 offering 8GB or 12GB options and the A35 featuring 6GB or 8GB. Storage options range from 128GB to 256GB, with only the A55 supporting expandable storage via a microSD card slot.

The camera setups distinguish between the two models, with the A55 featuring a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 32MP front-facing camera, while the A35 settles for an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 13MP front shooter. Both phones incorporate optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS) to ensure steady shots.
