Football Clubs Joining the European Super League Revealed

Barcelona president Florentino Perez has disclosed that 15 clubs are set to join the European Super League, with optimism for a potential launch in the upcoming season. This announcement follows A22 management co-founder Anas Laghrari’s statement, confirming the commitment of 20 teams across Europe to the breakaway tournament.

After a period of relative silence, A22, the driving force behind the initiative, unveiled plans for a revamped 64-team competition in December. This move came in response to a European Court of Justice ruling that found UEFA and FIFA’s actions against the formation of a European Super League to be in violation of competition laws.

President Laporta hinted that the interested clubs may see the competition materialize either in the upcoming season or in the 2025-26 campaign. The confirmed clubs include Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli, AS Roma, Olympique Marseille, Benfica, Porto, Sporting, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Anderlecht, Club Brugge, and all Spanish clubs except Atlético Madrid.
