Super Eagles of Nigeria See Decline in Latest FIFA Ranking

In the most recent FIFA ranking released by the global governing body for football, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have experienced a notable decline in their standing.

The two-time African champions have descended to the sixth position within the African continent. This drop comes after their ranking slid from 35th to 40th globally. The dip in their ranking follows their recent defeat on Match Day 3, where they faced Guinea Bissau.

Meanwhile, the Atlas Lions of Morocco have maintained their status as the leading team on the African continent and hold the 11th position worldwide.

As for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations champions, Senegal, they have ascended to the 18th spot in the global rankings, securing the second position in Africa. Tunisia has also climbed to the 28th position worldwide and now occupies the third spot within Africa.

In a historic turn of events, World Cup champions Argentina have claimed the coveted number one spot in the global rankings, marking their ascent to the highest rank for the first time in six years. This achievement comes as they overtake their South American rivals, Brazil, who have now moved to third place. France has secured the second position in the world rankings.
