YBNL CEO, Olamide, Announces His 10th Album “Unruly”

Afropop Mogul Olamide has set his fans buzzing with excitement as he recently unveiled the tracklist for his highly anticipated 10th album titled “Unruly.” The announcement was made on his Twitter page on July 28, 2023. Originally scheduled for a July 2023 release, the album’s launch has been rescheduled to August 9, 2023.

“Unruly” features a collection of 15 hit tracks, and fans are thrilled to discover collaborations with talented Afropop artists like Rema, Buju, Ckay, YBNL Signee Fireboy, and Asake. The album is impressively produced by Grammy-Award-winning producer Eskeez Magicsticks, renowned for his work with Asake.

This upcoming album marks Olamide’s 10th in his music career, following his successful “UY Scuti” album released in 2021. Interestingly, the tracklist unveiling was a special request from a fan on Twitter, which the rapper graciously fulfilled.

Olamide has already hinted that “Unruly” will be strictly +18-rated content, further heightening the anticipation among fans. The diverse lineup of featured artists adds to the excitement, and many are eagerly awaiting this album, considering it a significant moment in Olamide’s illustrious music history.

Over the past decade, Olamide’s music journey has seen him release nine albums, three of which earned him consecutive “Record of the Year” awards. Albums like “Carpe Diem” and “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” won accolades for Best Rap Album and Album of the Year at the Headies. With “Unruly,” he hints that this might be his final project.

Ahead of the album release, Olamide has already shared two singles from the upcoming album: “Trumpet” featuring CKay and the Amapiano chart-topper “New Religion” featuring Asake.

From his humble beginnings with the 2012 hit “Eni Duro,” Olamide’s journey in the music industry has been monumental. Through his record label YBNL, he has groomed and launched the careers of several Nigerian artists such as Naira Marley, Pheelz, DJ Enimoney, Lyta, Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Temmie Ovwasa, and many more.

Olamide’s collaborations with various artists, including Wizkid, Ice Prince, Reminisce, Pepenazi, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Smklef, D’banj, and 9ice, have solidified his position as one of the most influential artists in Africa. His impact on the music industry has been significant, as he continues to pave the way for emerging African talents.
