In recent times, many Nigerians have emigrated from the country with much more planning to ‘Japa’.

Apparently, entertainers are not exempted from this as a lot of our celebrities have decided to move their families out of the country, while they still make ends meet back home.

Don’t be surprised at those you’ll find on the list today. That being said, here are 5 NOLLYWOOD ACTORS WHOSE FAMILIES HAVE ‘JAPA’.

  1. SANYERI

Majorly because of the comedic roles he plays in movies, many people don’t seem to take actor, Olaniyi Afonja, aka Sanyeri, seriously. However, despite his on-screen antics, Sanyeri is one man who has been intentional about raising his family and exposing them to opportunities.

His beautiful wife, Omolara, and their two sons Boluwatife and Olasunkanmi are based in Toronto, Canada. In a video which surfaced on the internet some months ago, many Nigerians were excited by the foreign accent of his children.

That was especially so because their father mainly speaks in Yoruba, and cuts the picture of one who has never even travelled outside the country. In the video, the kids urged fans to subscribe to their father’s YouTube channel and other social media accounts.

  1. OKUNNU

Even without speaking, actor, Wale Akorede, aka Okunnu, sends his fans reeling with laughter because of his funny mannerisms.

However, despite the carefree character he usually portrays in movies, Okunnu does not joke about the welfare of his family.

His wife, Wumi, and their three kids Jumoke, Hassan and Modupe are based in Canada while the actor who was shuttling between Canada and Nigeria returned home after a year, leaving his beautiful wife and kids behind.

At a time, the actor also used to live in Saudi Arabia, but he returned to Nigeria after a while.

  1. MR. LATIN

Actor, Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr Latin who is based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, relocated his wife Ronke with his children a boy and a girl to Dublin, Ireland due to incessant teacher strikes and they currently reside there.

Mr. Latin who is the current President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria married Ronke in 1999 and their relationship has continued to blossom over the years.

He is particularly fond of her and he makes no secret about that. The actor also stated that he had never been tempted to marry another wife despite his wife not being in the country with him.

Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli is blessed with four boys from her marriage to her husband and her family is Canada based.

The actress shuttles between Nigeria and the North American country to ply her trade and ensure she’s not staying away from her family.

 

  1. MUYIWA ADEMOLA

The Yoruba actor is working hard at his craft in his home country, Nigeria but his wife and their five children relocated to Ontario, Canada some years back and they have been together for almost fifteen years.

They are currently living their dream lives in their new country. Ademola visits his wife and kids whenever he’s not busy with work in Nigeria.
