Nigerian artiste, Chinko Ekun has opened up about slipping into depression after losing his record deal and becoming homeless.

This was made known in a now-viral clip that surfaced online which was from a service at the Harvesters Church in Lagos.

Chinko Ekun revealed that his problem started after he had a misunderstanding with his record label, which prompted him to leave the label.

He also stated that he lost his car and apartment given to him by the label over this misunderstanding, which led to him becoming homeless.

He said, “From booking shows and flying every day to perform, I became homeless and I started squatting with one of my friends.”

Chinko Ekun further revealed that while squatting with one of Davido’s former personal assistants, he casually strolled to the beach which was in front of the house one morning depressed, with the thoughts of taking his life.

According to him, it was at the beach that he had a word with God and things began to look up for him.

He stated that he would go on to record new songs, got his royalties, bag a couple of endorsements, and be back on his feet again.

He also shared that he always had the intention of buying the same car his former record label took from him, and now he drives that car.
