Afrobeats superstar singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun “Wizkid” has delighted his fans with the release of the highly anticipated 5th studio album ‘More Love, Less Ego’.
The 13-track album sees the Afrobeats maestro infusing a blend of Afropop, Amapiano and R&B vibes to create a feel-good rhythm and celebrate love over money.
Speaking on the album, 32-year-old Wizkid said, “I feel we need more love in our communities. We need to just be good to one another and appreciate life more. So, this album title and even the music is just my own way of making people feel good.” Wake Up Nigeria November 15 2022
Before the album’s release, Wizkid dropped some singles, including “Bad to Me” and “Money & Love.”
The More Love, Less Ego album features both local and foreign musicians including
- Ayra Starr
- Skepta
- Naira Marley
- Don Toliver as well as Jamaica-born Skillibeng and Shenseea
Arya Starr was featured on the fourth track, ‘2 Sugar’ while Jamaican artists Skillibeng and Shensea appeared on the sixth track ‘Slip N Slide. American rapper Don Toliver featured on the track ‘Special’.
Tracks on the album include ‘Money and love’, ‘Balance’, ‘Bad to me, ‘Everyday’, ‘Deep’, ‘Flower Pads’, ‘Pressure’, ‘Plenty Loving’ and ‘Frames (Who’s going to know).
Reacting to it, controversial Twitter influencer, Daniel Regha on Friday said, “WizKids “More Love, Less Ego” album is ¤verhyped; He’s recycl!ng lyrics with different beats.
“Also, songs off the album are centred on material!sm but the album title suggests humility (so n¤ correlati¤n). As an artiste, Wizkid is n¤t evolving, & his pen game is m!d. No shades.”
