We get up close with actor and director Baaj Edebule who recently had his directorial debut making the film “come with me”. The film has been accepted by the African Film festival.

He is happy the film was accepted by the African international film festival. According to Baaj, it was hard to believe when I got the email when I first got the email, I didn’t tell anyone else until I was sure. I got another email and a phone call then I knew it was real when I heard their voice.

Why did you decide to go into production and directing?

Film making was the primary role, I was never really going to ct in the first place. It was my uncle who even made me start acting, he was like, why don’t you act and learn the roles then you can start making films and that’s how acting started for me.

Film-making was actually the one I was more focused on as opposed to acting.

It came from having different ideas coming together, at first it started with seeing how terrible the Kidnapping situation in Nigeria was getting and I wanted to touch on that.

I also watched an old Nigerian film and the bad guy in the movie had tattoos and a deadlock and I was like, I think I need to tell people that it’s most times not the guys with the tattoos and deadlock that are the bad people, it’s the everyday person working down the street that could be the villain.

So different pilers of ideas started forming in my head and I wrote the story. I then called my friend Michael and told him what I wanted to do and then we had multiple meetings and conversations and after like three-four months and seven drafts, we finally arrived at the story we have now.
