SHOCKING! Rapper Coolio Of ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ Fame Dies At 59

American rapper, Artis Leon Ivey Jr. popularly known as Coolio who shot to fame after releasing global hits such as ‘GangSta’s Paradise’ and ‘C U When You Get There’ died at the age of fifty-nine.

The rapper who achieved huge success in the 90s died yesterday in Los Angeles while visiting a friend.

Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez, says Coolio went to the bathroom at his friend’s house, but when he didn’t come out after a while the friend kept calling for him, and eventually went in and found Coolio laying on the floor.

The friend called EMTs, who arrived and pronounced Coolio dead.
According to Jarez, paramedics suspect he suffered cardiac arrest. An official cause of death has not been confirmed.

In a statement with Variety, his manager at Trinity Artistes International, Sheila Finegan said, “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon.

“He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly, thank you to everyone worldwide who has listened to his music and to everyone who has been reaching out regarding his passing. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

GangSta’s Paradise became one of the most successful rap songs of all time. Aside from topping the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, it was the number one single of 1995 in the United States for all genres and was a global hit topping the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand charts.

In 1996, ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ was nominated for Record of The Year and Best Rap Solo Performance at the Grammy Awards, with Coolio winning the latter.
