We were joined by Elizabeth Onyema, an advanced clinical weight loss expert and the CEO of Lizz weight watchers.

She is a health and lifestyle entrepreneur who teaches nutrition, activity and behavioural therapy. Here, we focused on the pot belly pandemic.

What are the factors responsible for this?

According to Coach Lizzy, when people hear the word pot belly, they tend to think that we are just talking about men. No, men and women have a pot belly. The only difference is that men don’t wear tights to hide their stomachs but women obviously have to.

What will naturally trigger the growth of abdominal Fact?

Recall last week, I shared that nobody was worn with the growth of toxic facts so it means that, as we grow older our food choices and lifestyle would keep making these facts that are grown around our organs grow basically.

There are two major things that trigger our fats

  • Ultra process foods
  • Simple Carbohydrates
  • Genetically modified food

There are different stages of food processing. When a food has been altered from its natural state, it’s unhealthy.

Ultra-processed foods also referred to as ultra-processed food products, are food and drink products that have undergone specified types of food processing.

These foods go through multiple processes (extrusion, moulding, milling, etc.), contain many added ingredients like preservation, colourings, flavouring, and sugars are highly manipulated.

Examples are

  • Flour
  • Soft drinks
  • Chips
  • Chocolate
  • Candy
  • Ice-cream
  • Sweetened breakfast cereals
  • Packaged soups
  • Chicken nuggets
  • Hotdogs Fries
  • Alcohol

Simple Carbohydrates: Simple carbohydrates are broken down quickly by the body to be used as energy. Simple carbohydrates are found naturally in foods such as fruits, milk, and milk products. They are also found in processed and refined sugars such as candy, table sugar, syrups, and soft drinks

Any natural carbohydrate that does not contain fibre is not healthy for the body and can cause fat around the abdominal area.

Genetically modified foods: also known as genetically engineered foods, or bioengineered foods are foods produced from organisms that have had changes introduced into their DNA using the methods of genetic engineering.

GM foods are useful in controlling the occurrence of certain diseases. By modifying the DNA system of these foods, the properties causing allergies
