Nigerian artiste Kizz Daniel who was yesterday a*rested by the Tanzanian police following reports that he refused to show up for an event he was billed to perform has been released.
The Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM gave the update on Twitter shortly after the arrest writing, “UPDATE: Kizz Daniel @KizzDaniel has been released. His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return to Nigeria.”
Just so you know, in a now viral video, Kizz Daniel was seen being escorted out of his hotel into a waiting van by men of the Tanzania Police force.
All of this is also happening after a video had earlier gone viral, where we could see guests at the event throwing objects at an empty stage, after waiting for the singer, with many angrily walking out of the venue, while also voicing their displeasure.
In an interview with media personality, Freeze, the show promoter who gave his name as Stephen Uwah, said Kizz Daniel refused to perform because the airline failed to bring his bag containing his gold chains and insisted he will not perform without wearing all his gold chains.
The show promoter also said that he spent nothing less than three hundred thousand dollars on the show including sixty thousand dollars to Kizz Daniel as performance fee, however, the singer flopped everything. He said he was on his knees weeping and begging Kizz Daniel to perform but he refused.
