In an interview with Nollywood star, Etinosa she shared how she started acting and her journey so far.

How did you get started in The Movie industry?

“I have always wanted to be an actor but in Nigerian Family, if you’e not a science student you are a bad child, you don’t know what you’re doing in life.

I was an engineer for a while, when i became financially independent, when i wasn’t living off my parents and doing my own thing, i decided to go to film school.

It was just a trying and error thing like let me just see, while i am in the school i will be going for auditions and i was shooting skit at the time because i just really loved it.

Fortunately, while i was in the school, the time i even bother to go to class (I wasn’t skipping classes because i just felt like, i was shooting skits and going for auditions) so i was coming sometimes and then sometimes going to try my luck at producers offices and auditions.

Fortunately for me, they always seem to recognize me wherever i go, like, ‘are you not that girl who did that funny skit’… So i felt like this is where i should be because for me it was smooth.

I post a skit that was just funny to me and people will just love it…. and then some of my instructors where feeling me at the time so, i don’t come to class for like a week, and then the day i come and there’s like a monologue that we have to present, i just take the book sharply and present it and i am really good and then praises.

I new that this was where is should be and i would do well there. Though the transition was not really easy.

How has Motherhood Evolved You As A Person?

“Motherhood has made me less selfish because now, before i do anything, i first think of my child. When it was just me, i will be like, it’s me, its my life, i am just catching cruise, that’s your business.

Now, even though i know i am probably right, i just don’t want to be right, i want to be safe.

I want my daughter to be safe, to be happy, to grow up and read positive things about me, my work, awards, good family time than reading about me trying to proof a point and like a billion people are insulting me on the net.

Even if i am right, my child won’t see it that way, i don’t want her to be bullied because of me so i am just really tuning a lot of things down.”

Talking about the recent event where she trended for calling a colleague out for making content in a mourning space she said,

So i lost my dad almost a year ago, i first saw the video of Empress crying and placing a picture and flowers and i was like, why should anybody record this lady in this vulnerable moment?

And in the video, there were other people with phones  that i could see. I was like, what kind of generation is this?

What kind of people are these? All holding phones when they could be consoling her, they couldn’t maybe console her and go, they were all holding phones, like why?

It’s not even the time, there’s a burial ceremony in which people called celebration of life. At that time you can bring your camera, do whatever you want to do, take pictures, do owambe etc. That’s fine but this is fresh, this is condolence visit, this is a time to take care of the person who is grieving or just don’t show up or send a text if you’re so insensitive.

All i saw had already triggered me but i didn’t see anybody in the video, i didn’t see who was holding the camera.

Then i saw another video, someone walking in to the place of condolence, there’s a camera following this person, there’s all paparazzi about it and i was  like, wow, it just really upset me like.

If this person really mean something to you, if you’re really pained about at this person’s transition to glory, there’s no way you would remember to tell someone to make video of you.

Because that video was so beautiful, it was so strategic, you can’t take such video in just one take, we are film makers na, you have to tell the person, okay take from the back, do from the front etc. She added.
