Police Uncover Baby Factory, Rescues Three Pregnant Women in Delta

A baby factory was discovered by Delta State Police Command agents in the state’s Obodogba hamlet, in the Okpanam Oshimili North Local Government Area.

In a written statement to the media on Thursday, the state police command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed that three pregnant women had been rescued from the den while two suspects, Promise Ejogu, 25, and Aruna Sulieman, 29, had been detained.

Bright Edafe, Delta police spokesperson, in a statement on Thursday, said operatives from the state criminal investigation department stormed the place following information received on activities in the area.

He added that three pregnant women were rescued during the operation.

“Acting on information, on July 10, 2022, at about 7.30pm, operatives of the State Investigation Department stormed a baby factory in Okpanam community, Oshimili North LGA,” the statement reads.

“The operatives rescued three pregnant women and two suspects; Promise Ejogu and Aruna Sulieman were arrested.

“Information gathered by the police revealed that one of the suspects, Promise Ejogu, is a brother to the ring leader of the syndicate.

“The syndicate kept the women and engages them in sexual activities to get them pregnant.”

According to information obtained, one of the accused, Promise Ejogu, is a relative of the syndicate’s ringleader who allegedly participates in sexual activity with these women in order to become pregnant.

The PPRO reported that while efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining syndicate members, the suspects are now being held in prison.
