Award winning guitarist Carlos Santana is currently recovering after collapsing onstage during his performance at Pine Knob Music Theatre, an outdoor venue near the city of Detroit.
According to sources, the legendary guitarist collapsed due to heat exhaustion and dehydration at the venue, which left fans shocked and concerned.
In a statement by Carlos Santana’s manager Michael Vrionis, he said, “Carlos was taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation and is doing well.”
The 74-year-old was roughly twenty minutes into his set when he sat on a drum riser as the song ‘Joy’ began and then he fell backward before a medical team attended to him.
As a result of this medical episode, a show which was scheduled at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Pennsylvania was postponed to a later date.
Just so you know, Carlos Santana was forced to postpone part of a Las Vegas residency in December last year, following an “unscheduled” heart procedure.
He resumed the residency in January and began the North American tour in March.
This latest episode occurred during Santana’s Miraculous Supernatural Tour, which is currently been done in collaboration with rock band Earth, Wind & Fire.
