There is nothing quite amazing like a great movie that also has a massive soundtrack.
The right song can elevate a scene to the point where you are left with goosebumps and the memory is stamped in your brain forevermore.
Even if you don’t love the movie, a good song from it can leave you feeling that at least you have discovered some awesome new music.
We can perhaps ignore cheesy acting or questionable plot twists, and focus more on the music alone.
Today let’s talk about 5 MOVIES WITH GREAT SONGS.
- A STAR IS BORN
This 2018 film is the fourth filmed version of the story; and the emotional core of it is presented through music.
Main characters Jack, played by Cooper and Ally, played by Lady Gaga, both speak the truth through their songs.
Well, out of the many beautiful songs written for the movie, Lady Gaga arguably outdid them with ‘Shallow.’
The heartbreaking ballad reached number one in the UK, and also won the Oscar for Best Song, as it also became one of the best-selling singles of all time.
- PITCH PERFECT
The 2012 American comedy film taps into female friendship and empowerment while somehow turning the art of a cappella into a super-cool after-school gig, making viewers watch out for the songs and forget the story line.
It is absolutely loaded with extra-ordinary performances, toe-tapping musical numbers, and with several chart-topping songs ranging from ‘Cups’ to ‘Riff Off’, that makes many re-watch the movie just to sing along.
Although these songs are no longer number one hits, they are still a great tune.
- THE GREAT SHOWMAN
The American biographical musical drama film gave us the right mixture of a classical and a happy upbeat song, but leaving few top charting songs stamped into our hearts.
This is the one movie which has its songs like ‘Never Enough’, ‘This is me’, ‘The Greatest Show’, ‘Rewrite The Stars’, ‘The Other Side’, and others dragging places with each other, and we can’t just agree to one.
However, ‘This is Me’ ranks number four in the top twenty greatest songs from a musical, and it also won Best Original Song Motion Picture at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.
- SOUND OF MUSIC
The 1965 award-winning film is the adaptation of the 1959 stage musical, which definitely takes the guess on being one of the most beloved musicals of all time.
With the movie over fifty years old now, it is still ranked with its best songs like; ‘Do Re Mi’, ‘My Favourite Things’, Maria’, and many others.
‘Do-Re-Mi’ is many people’s favourite of all time, it was, it is and forever will be their best childhood song, and it is still being taught to kids of this generation which shows it surpasses time.
- ENCANTO
It is rare to see anyone who doesn’t absolutely love Encanto! It has quickly become one of the most popular Disney animated film releases.
Many audiences of all ages enjoy and bond over its important themes, relatable, lovable, and downright catchy music.
There is no doubt that Lin-Manuel Miranda nailed it with his work on this.
