‘Some institutions are not doing something right’ host of the Wake Up Nigeria show on TVC, Mike Mesikenor shares he experience with a bank.
Mike revealed he got a surprise text from a certain bank saying,
“Dear Mr Mike Mesikenor, welcome to —(Bank name withheld) bank. You new account number is 1578334919, dial —– or visit www.—– to enjoy easy banking”
Mike said he has never stepped into this bank and can’t recall rEquesting for account.
How they got his details and phone number, he is still wondering.
He said,
“This people actually know what they’re doing. Some accounts are being open with names and phone number using peoples BVN with no pictures. Some accounts are even duplicated”.
Mike shared that he realised that he was not the only one experiencing this, so many others have experienced this and where sharing their experience on Twitter.
He however, reached out to the bank on Twitter copying CBN asking why they opened an account for him without his permission and he was asked to chat them via direct message.
Where is the line being drawn? What are the customers rights and how far can banks go?
