Black Entertainment Television, organisers of the annual BET Awards have unveiled the nominations list for this year’s award, and Burna Boy and Rema are representing Nigeria.
Burna Boy has again been nominated in the Best International Act Award category alongside South African singer Sho Madjozi. Also included in the same category are Stormzy and Dave from the UK, Ninho and S.Pri Noir from France, and Congolese singer/songwriter Innoss’B.
Rema is nominated in the ‘Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act’ category alongside Sha Sha from Zimbabwe, while Celeste, and Young T & Bugsey are representing the U.K., and Hatik and Stacy are representing France.
Wizkid was nominated in The BET Her Award category for his collaboration with Beyonce, Blue Ivy Carter and Saint John on Brown Skin Girl.
Drake leads the nomination list with six nods, while Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch are next with five nominations each.
The 2020 BET Awards which is scheduled to hold on June 28th, 2020 will be a virtual celebration because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
It will be hosted by Amanda Seales and will mark the ceremony’s 20th anniversary and BET’s 40th anniversary.
