TVC E – Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has urged African countries to jointly address the development of a robust gas infrastructure if it must cater for its future energy needs.
He made this clarification at the Opening Ceremony of the 6th African Petroleum Congress & Exhibition, CAPE VI.Abuja.
State House Correspondent Mariah Olasehinde reports that the CAPE is Africa’s most strategic Oil and Gas meeting which takes place once every three years and attracts petroleum specialists from all over the World and Africa’s top government officials in the petroleum sector.
Nigeria is hosting the 6th edition of CAPE,coming at at time Nigeria’s Vice President admits poses a grave challenge for the Oil and Gas industry, especially for petroleum producers in Africa with the declining price of oil in the world market
Vice President Osinbajo is worried about the economic threat this in turn has on African oil producing nations,and he notes that finding resources to invest in the African oil and gas sectorbe has become a challenge.
Minister of State Petroleum Resources and President of APPA , Ibe Kachikwu is optimistic that the price of Oil will rise again and has these few words of encouragement.
Participants at the event say APPA offers opportunities to share expertise, discuss strategies opportunities for developing oil activities, and build relations and ties between decision makers and professionals in the sector.
