Ogun residents block Lagos-Ibadan expressway to protest power outage

TVC E, NEWS – Traffic along the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan express road, was disrupted in the early hours of Monday.

Residents of Magboro, Ibafo, Asese and Mowe communities, took to the highway to protest the inability of the Ibadan Distribution Company, to get them connected to the national grid, in the last 10 years.

Residents of the affected communities  also lament the collapse of businesses.

The community leaders claim to have spent over 400 million naira in erecting power lines, poles and the purchase of transformers.

They appeal to the Minister in charge of Power, Babatunde Fashola  to come to their aid.
