Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Tems is trending after fiercely addressing body shamers in a viral social media response. The “Essence” and “Free Mind” hitmaker called out online trolls who criticized her curves, telling them to “move on” and emphasizing that her body is hers to own.
The drama started on X (formerly Twitter) when a user made a degrading comment about her body, sparking widespread attention. Tems didn’t hold back, stating:
“It’s small, it’s flat, it’s fat — dog, IT’S MINE.”
She added that she never tried to hide her body and doesn’t owe anyone an explanation. Her response gained massive support from fans and celebrities alike, reinforcing her image as a voice of empowerment, body positivity, and self-love.
Tems previously spoke proudly about her curves in a Cocoa Butter interview, calling it a “blessing to be an endowed Black woman.” Known for her soulful music and strong identity, Tems continues to champion body confidence and inspire young women worldwide.
