In a surprising announcement, Nigerian music superstar Davido has revealed that he will no longer be performing at 50 Cent’s Legacy Tour concert scheduled for July 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Davido explained that the decision was not due to ticket sales but rather “a matter of principle and respect” for his artistry. He cited unresolved issues with the show’s organizers, The Neto Future Group, saying there were significant misalignments regarding the event’s execution.
“Despite strong fan support and impressive ticket sales, there have been major misalignment regarding the event’s execution… Unfortunately, these issues remain unresolved,” he wrote.
Davido reassured fans that the rest of his summer shows — including stops in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the U.S. — will go on as planned.
Though the London show will continue without him, Davido emphasized the need for respect for African artists and their craft, signing off with his signature:
“5ive is still alive! Africa must be respected.”
