Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, fresh off his Next Rated win at the 17th Headies Awards, has issued a strong warning to rising artists: don’t rush into taking upfront payments from record labels.
Speaking via X (formerly Twitter), he advised up-and-comers to be patient and build their craft before signing any deals that could trap them in debt. His heartfelt message emphasized long-term growth over quick gains.
Fellow artist Wande Coal also chimed in, urging young talents to truly evaluate if they’re ready for the demands of the music industry.
